My 2020 Pekanbaru Trip (Mostly Food Pics!)
Hello everyone!
Wow, it's been a long time since my last post isn't it?
Well, in this post I just wanna share my culinary experiences from my trip to Pekanbaru, last month.
I stayed there from 10th - 17th August. It was for work. (as I've stated in my previous post, I work as a Revit instructor, and I went there to conduct a training for a company)
So, here are the pics and some stories from the trip:
First day, here's a pic that I took from my lunch at the airport while waiting for my flight to Pekanbaru. It's Curry Mee from OldTown White Coffee. One word: Delish.
After arriving at Dafam Hotel Pekanbaru, I went straight to the shower and took a short nap. After Maghrib, I was starting to feel hungry so I went downstairs to the hotel lobby and found out that the hotel has this kinda open simple bar, and it has karaoke system. So if there were people at the receptionist waiting to check in or out, they would hear people sing loudly from this bar.
Long story short, I decided to eat here and ordered these dished. Chicken salad, and also fried calamary. For the drink, I ordered matcha frappe.
They tasted... so-so. Sorry!
The next night, after I finished the first day of training, I went to a mall nearby and ate in this Korean restaurant called Chir Chir. Ordered this chicken (I forgot the name of the dish) and cheesy tokpokki. and I didn't forget my obsession for Koi's Hazelnut milk tea with small golden pearl. They're delishhhh!
Oh, these are some pizzas from Panties Pizza. Kinda fulfill my craving for cheesy-food
Some of my relatives live in Pekanbaru, so one of them took me to this simple cafe in the middle of the town, called Au drinks. He said his friend owns this cafe. Not too many choices of drink, but worth the price and the atmosphere. The place doesn't only sell drinks but also simple Indonesian snacks such as bakso bakar, tempe goreng, etc.
At the weekend, I was craving some kinda steaks, so I bribed my cousin to this steak place.
Actually i could go to this steak restaurant easily in Jakarta because the restaurant franchises are literally everywhere. Yeah, It's Waroeng Steak & Shake. But believe me, I've never been to this place once.
At one morning, I went to my late grandpa's grave and prayed for him with my aunt and my cousin. After that we went to my other aunt's house in Rumbai to check up on her. (she was sick. And 2 weeks ago she passed away from cancer T_T)
and then we went to a nearby local market because my aunt needed to buy groceries, and right before we went back home to my grandma's house, we ate the cendol. It was the best in town! (But i forgot the name of the cendol place. again. sorry!)
Yum. This was the lontong sayur sold nearby my grandma's house. It has sayur paku and spicy cassava chips to replace the usual kerupuk. DELISH!!
Last but not least, this burger is a must eat everytime I visit Pekanbaru.
It doesn't taste that special but it has a special place in my mom's childhood memory. So i became attached to this burger place too.
Well, those are the food pics that I took from my one week work trip to Pekanbaru.
I just wanna share and save the memories here. That's all.
Bye!
